Broad Bay Sailing Association PHRF Racing

The Broad Bay Sailing Association is very active in PHRF sailboat racing in Hampton Roads. Sailors can enjoy weekly racing on Wednesday nights at Little Creek and Thursday nights on the Willoughby Bay in Norfolk (use links to the left). These races go from mid-April to late September. In addition to weekly racing, BBSA sponsors four weekend regattas. For downloads including Notices of Race, sailing instructions, registration forms, etc., please visit the PHRF sections of our downloads page. Previous
years' race results are posted here. BBSA recognizes, annually, a skipper with outstanding performance in the area's major weekend regattas. Here is the list of recent recipients of the Big-Boat Skipper of the Year.

The Cape Henry Cup is a CBYRA-sanctioned event with points qualifying for their High Point standings. This unique long distance race takes racers over both openings in the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. Past Cape Henry Cup Winners

BBSA's last race of the season, Neptune's Atlantic Regatta, is affiliated with Virginia Beach's Neptune Festival and is also a CBYRA-sanctioned event. Starting off Little Creek, racers transit the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel, sail down the coast, and finish off 24th street. After a night of fun at the Festival, participants leave the event's complimentary Rudee Inlet dockage and return home.
