Event Details:

Cruise to NYCC for two evenings of great music, food, and friends. We’ll relax and enjoy craft beer, wine, dinner, and sunsets on the river all while listening to great local music.

Thursday 1800-Until: Sunsets on The River at the Hermitage Museum, Music by Last Fair Deal, a Grateful Dead Tribute Band
Friday 1730-2030: Summer Nights Poolside Entertainment at NYCC, Island Night, Poolside Steel Drum Music by Ricky Micou

The Plan

The cruise begins with a Thursday morning sail, at your leisure, to NYCC to enjoy the pool, lunch, and cocktails. At 1630 Thursday and Friday, before the music starts, we’ll meet at the Dock “C” T-Head and get reacquainted and reorganized over dock tails.

On Thursday with everyone gathered, we’ll walk to the Hermitage, about a 5-minute walk from NYCC. Doors open at 1730. Music starts at 1800. Guests may bring lawn chairs, blankets, and food. Cash and credit are welcome. Concert admission is $15 online up to 4 days in advance (Sunsets Tickets), or $20 at the door. Food Trucks are available or we can return to NYCC for a late dinner or dessert. NYCC serves dinner until 2100.

On Friday we’ll repeat, gather everyone at 1630 at the Dock “C” T-Head, and stroll to the pool for music and dancing. We’ll decide then if dinner is poolside or in the club house.

DELMARVA Circumnavigation (Saturday, August 22, 2026)

Join BBSA sailors for a DELMARVA circumnavigation. The 9 days – 8 nights (Aug 22 thru Aug 30) schedule allows for extra time if needed. We will transit the coastal Atlantic waters, Delaware Bay, C&D Canal, and Chesapeake Bay either clockwise or counterclockwise, weather and current dependent. Additionally, a full moon is forecast for Aug 28.

The itinerary will include an overnight coastal passage from Little Creek, VA to Lewes, MD. This could be at the start of the week or the end. Overnight passages are more spectacular with or near a full moon. Overnight stops will give opportunities for marina stays and anchorages with visits ashore. The direction of the circumnavigation will be set as the cruise date approaches.

Sail Plan:

Sat-Sun 8/22-23:
Little Creek to Lewes, DE just inside Delaware Bay. This will be an overnight coastal passage. Anchorage just inside Delaware Bay. 137nm

Mon 8/24:
Lewes to Chesapeake City, MD Boaters | Chesapeake City, MD on the C&D canal. Good place for dinner and anchor or free slips at town docks 1st come 1st serve. 65nm

Tues 8/25:
Chesapeake City, MD to Rock Hall, MD – marina available on Dockwa.com or anchor in Swan Creek. 36nm

Wed8/26:
Rock Hall to Solomons, MD - marina or anchor. 57nm

Thur 8/27:
Solomons, MD to Onancock, VA – anchor in the harbor or tie up at the town dock (dockwa.com). Mallards is a good places to eat overlooking the harbor. 55nm

Fri 8/28:
Onancock, VA to Little Creek 60nm

Sat 8/29: Buffer day

Sun 8/30: Buffer Day

Labor Day Cruise to Pirates Beach (Friday, September 04, 2026)

Labor Day weekend is right around the corner! The cruise to Pirates Beach is on. The cruise will be the same as in previous years. Come and anchor out to enjoy the beach, bonfire at night and other impromptu activities that pop up. If you need any further information, please reach out to me. From the feedback I'm hearing, we are going to have a lot of boats this year as usual. Power and sailboats are welcome. The more the merrier! We hope to see many of you soon.

The GPS coordinates are 37*38.289' N 76*19.181'W. Fleets Bay is just North of the entrance to the Rappahannock River. After you pass the mouth of the Rappahannock you would go west into Fleets Bay and then southwest into Little Bay toward AntiPoison Creek. "2" Red day mark for AntiPoison Creek is close to where we will be. We will be as close to the beach as our 4' draft will allow. There should be 12' - 16' of water.

This cruise is a combination of sailing, hanging out and enjoying night time fires on the beach. For day time fun, we will have yard games, horseshoes and fun floats to play with. Sailors have been known to pick a boat to hang out on during the day and float and swim in the water. Nothing is formally planned.

If you have an extra table, pop-up, grill or firewood, please bring them because we can always utilize them.

Since this cruise is well attended, it is sometimes difficult to spread the word on events that pop up. If you plan on attending and would like to be included in a group text the weekend of Labor Day, I will put it on a group chain so anyone that wants to be included in various pop-up parties or a friendly competition of paddle board races, blind dinghy races etc... will be notified.
