Join BBSA and HYC for the July 3-5 Cruise to Sarah's Creek, off the York River and led by Scott and Stephanie Patterson on s/v Kobayashi Maru.
Sarah’s Creek is located about one (1) mile east of the Coleman Bridge over the York River, about 28 NM from Hampton Yacht Club. Our chosen anchorage will be just across the creek from York River Yacht Haven (37°15.407’N • 76°28.610’W). Water depth leading up to anchorage off the main river is between seven (7) and eighteen (18) feet. Anchorage between 6 and 7 feet.
For those not interested in anchoring, there is York River Yacht Haven (YRYH). Individuals are welcome to make reservations. Dockwa or https://yorkriveryachthaven.com
From the anchorage we can take advantage of all YRYH has to offer. Dinghy dockage cost $20 last year and gets you a secure place to tie up, use of the laundry and shower facilities. There is a freshwater pool on site, that will cost extra to visit. On-site has a pretty good bar and restaurant, frequented by many area visitors. The restaurant is very popular in the area, so plan to get in line early, especially if you have a large group. They don't take reservations, but for a larger group, you might try calling ahead.
Last year we were amazed at the fireworks shows. WE WERE SURROUNDED by them. It seemed they were on both sides of the York River.
